The term Sashtiaptapoorthi etymologically traces its origin to Sanskrit where it means; ‘Shasthi’= Sixty + ‘Abda’= Years + ‘Poorthi’= Completion. Sashtiapthapoorthi 60th Birthday Pooja is performed when a man enters the 61st year after completing 60 years.
